I am in a position that I am passionate about and doing work that I love. I traveled a diverse path to get to my current position. My background is clinical and I served in various nursing leadership positions in Michigan and North Carolina; transitioned to hospital administration and served as assistant administrator and vice president of a hospital before being extended the opportunity to start the Office of Diversity & Inclusion; where I now work. My advice to early and mid-careerist is to be open to new opportunities that may not seem to align with your “envisioned career path”.
